Frequently Asked Questions

  • I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with my clients. I am person-centered in my approach, tailoring my therapy to each individual’s needs. You can see a list of my education, certifications and trainings here. Feel free to schedule a call with me to see if we are a good fit!

  • First we will schedule a Free 15 min Consultation call. Over this call you will get the chance to ask me questions about my style and process and see if you feel like I am the right fit for you. If you’d like to proceed, we’ll schedule an appointment to get started! You can email me here or schedule the call directly on my Zencare calendar.

  • I have an office for in person sessions located in Lincoln, RI. I also provide telehealth sessions for your convenience. You are welcome to choose what feels most comfortable to you. Some of my clients decide the day of an appointment if they feel like having a telehealth or in-person appointment.

  • I know how difficult it is to carve out time for yourself postpartum. I encourage every new parent to come as they are! Babies are welcome to join us for sessions and can sometimes be a helpful addition as you are learning how to soothe and regulate yourself and baby. Pumping? Breastfeeding? Baby-wearing? Our sessions can be flexible to meet those needs so if you need to feed baby, or you’d rather have a phone call so you can push a stroller, we will make it work!

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. It is an evidence based therapy for the treatment of trauma and anxiety. Click here to learn more and watch a short video about EMDR.

  • I do not accept insurance. It is important to me that I provide therapy tailored to my client’s needs and dedicate the time and attention they each need. By not taking insurance, I am not bound by the limitations insurance can put on therapy such as duration and frequency of sessions. I am able to have flexibility in my work and maintain a smaller caseload so that I can be fully present for my clients. Some clients are interested in a more intensive experience in therapy to work through a specific issue or trauma. Longer sessions can be scheduled to accommodate this.

  • This is plan dependent, but if you have out of network benefits I will help you by providing a Superbill. A superbill will outline our treatment with dates, length of session and diagnosis. You will submit the superbills to your insurance. The insurance company will review the superbill and determine if you can be reimbursed for part of the session. It is always advised to call your insurance first and inquire about behavioral health out of network benefits.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, healthcare providers are required to provide clients who are self-pay or not using insurance with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services.

A Good Faith Estimate is a written document that outlines the expected cost of therapy services based on the information available at the time it is created (such as session fee and anticipated frequency). It is intended to promote transparency and help clients understand the potential cost of care.

This estimate is not a bill and does not require payment. Actual costs may vary depending on changes in treatment needs, frequency of sessions, or duration of care. If changes occur, an updated estimate may be provided.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate upon request and at the start of services if you are paying privately for therapy.

If you have questions about your Good Faith Estimate or would like to review it together, please feel free to contact me.
